Course details
Suitable for anyone who works in an environment with people who
suffer from anaphylaxis in their care. This course fulfils the core
competencies of the administration of an EpiPen Auto-injector as
laid down by the Calgary Allergy network. Students gain a basic
awareness of Anaphylaxis and competence in the administration of an
EpiPen Auto-injector.
Anaphylaxis and EpiPen Training Syllabus
- Delegates perform workshop tasks with the equipment provided
in their syndicates as part of the core competencies.
- How to recognize the components of Anaphylaxis as set out by
the Ambulance Service basic training manual
- How to identify the core components in the administration of
an EpiPen auto-injector as set out by the Calgary Allergy Network
- The practical application of administering an EpiPen on a
student’s thigh as laid down by the Anaphylaxis campaign
- Basic Life Support Resuscitation , as laid down by the
European Resuscitation Council
- Recognition of the Health and Safety Issues as set out by the
Epilepsy Council
