Heartsaver First Aid

The Heartsaver First Aid course provides training in basic first aid procedures, with the opportunity for training in adult CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). The course is for people assigned as first responders to emergencies in the workplace or community. This course will teach you how to recognize an emergency and what to do. Assessments and interventions that can be applied by a trained lay rescuer. The 5 things to look for at a scene of injury. Universal Precautions and some diseases universal precautions may prevent. What to do if you are exposed to blood or other body fluids and other emergencies that a first aid rescuer is most likely to encounter at the work-site.

The program is divided into core course (First Aid only) and add the following modules.

1. ADULT CPR

2. ADULT CPR W/AED HEARTSAVER FIRST AID ONLY

3.  CHILDREN CPR

4.  CHILDREN CPR/AED

5. INFANT CPR

6  ENVIRONMENTAL

 

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a Heartsaver First Aid card valid for (2) years

Pediatric First Aid for Caregivers and Teachers

Caregivers and teachers need to know what to do when a child is injured or becomes suddenly and severely ill.  Most injuries that require first aid are not life-threatening. Usually, first aid involves simple, common sense procedures.  However, first aid can sometimes mean the difference between life and death.  All caregivers and teachers should have pediatric first aid training. We also provide the First Aid at Work refresher course. This course is designed to meet requirements for groups such as teachers, day care providers, school bus drivers, transportation and home care providers.

The course for teachers and childcare workers focus on the illnesses and injuries most common to children and their health. With this course you will become confident in administering and caring for the safety of those students or children in your care.
